“True piety is to believe in Allah, and the Last Day, the Angels, the Book, and the Prophets, to give of one’s substance, however cherished, to kinsmen, and orphans, the needy, the traveler, beggars, and to ransom the slave, to perform the prayer, to pay the zakat.”
(Qur’an 2:177)
The IB Zakat Fund is used in supporting our work with new Muslims and also providing short-term, one-off, financial support for local Muslims in need. Please consider donating a small portion of your Zakat to support local people.

To apply for Zakat
To apply for Zakat you must be permanently resident in the Bradford District. Please note that funds are limited and only one application may be made per family per year. Please also note that it may take up to two weeks to process an application.
Zakat application process
1 - A formal letter of application signed by hand and addressed to IB including a clear description of the financial situation and what funds are required sent to [email protected]
2 - A written character reference from an individual known to us.
3 - Proof of residence in the Bradford District e.g. utility bill, council tax bill or bank statement.
4 - Other documentation e.g. bank statements, council letters etc. which support the application.
IB reserves the right to ask for further documentation and to decline an application without specifying a reason. Where funds collected exceed local demand, we reserve the right to distribute the zakat beyond the Bradford District.
